Dr. Mary Ann Chiodo is originally from St. Paul, Minnesota. She completed her undergraduate work at the College of Saint Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota and received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the West Virginia University School of Medicine in 1989. Dr. Chiodo completed her residency in Pediatrics at West Virginia University Hospital in 1992. She and her husband, Vincent M. Chiodo, M.D. established ABC Pediatrics of Dunn, PA in April, 1994. Dr. Chiodo is a Board Certified Pediatrician and maintains memberships with the American Academy of Pediatrics, The North Carolina Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, The North Carolina Medical Society, the Catholic Medical Society, The Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, The Harnett County Physician’s Alliance and the Dunn Area Chamber of Commerce. She is also an Adjunct Faculty Member of the Duke University Department of Community Medicine.  She and Dr. Vince have six children and five grandchildren. Dr. Chiodo is a rabid tennis fan and an avid player.  She also enjoys spending time with her family. Dr. Chiodo’s patients know her as “Dr. Mary Ann”. She is well known for her curly red hair, kind nature and friendly smile. Her special medical interests are asthma, ADHD, chronic diseases and infant feeding problems.

Mrs. Rhonda C. Torchio was born and raised in Roseboro, North Carolina. She attended Campbell University for her undergraduate work from 2001 to 2005. While attending Campbell University, Mrs. Torchio worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at ABC Pediatrics. In 2005, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Campbell University with a minor in Chemistry.She then continued her education at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina and graduated from the Physician Assistant program in 2008 with a Master’s degree in Medical Sciences. She returned to ABC Pediatrics in the fall of 2008. Mrs. Torchio lives in Cary with her husband. She enjoys playing the piano and watching football with her husband. Despite her affiliation with Duke, she is a BIG NC State fan.

Dr. Vincent M. Chiodo grew up in Follansbee, WV.  He graduated Cum Laude and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology from West Virginia University in 1982. He worked as a Research Medical Technologist and supervised an Infectious Diseases Research Lab for three years before going to medical school. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from West Virginia University in 1989. He completed an Internal Medicine and Pediatrics Internship and then a Pediatric Residency at West Virginia University Hospital in 1992. Dr. Chiodo held the position of Chief Resident of Pediatrics and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at West Virginia University until 1993 when he entered private practice in Virginia. In April of 1994, Dr. Chiodo and his wife, Mary Ann, also a pediatrician, moved to Dunn, NC and established ABC Pediatrics of Dunn, PA. He shares co-ownership with Mary Ann and serves as President and CEO of ABC Pediatrics. Dr. Chiodo’’s professional affiliations include The American Academy of Pediatrics, The North Carolina Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Catholic Medical Society, The North Carolina State Medical Association, Third Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus, The Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and the Dunn Area Chamber of Commerce. He is an Adjunct Faculty Member of the Duke University Department of Community Medicine and sits on the Campbell University Physician Assistant Board of Advisors.  He also serves on the Local Advisory Board for Trust (previously known as BB&T). He and Dr Mary Ann have six children and five grandchildren. Dr. Chiodo enjoys Italian cooking, deep sea fishing, skeet shooting and spending time with his family. Dr. Chiodo’s patients know him as “Dr. Vince” and he is well known for his attention to detail.

Mrs. Veronica Romero is a Certified Physician Assistant who was born in Mexico City, Mexico. When she was three years old, her family immigrated to Los Angeles, California. In 1990, she completed her Bio-Psychology degree at El Camino College in Torrance, California. She traveled across the country to North Carolina in 1994 and began working for ABC Pediatrics. She worked in the Business Office and was the Office Manager for several years before deciding to return to school and further her education in 2003. She attended Methodist University in Fayetteville, North Carolina. In 2005, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a concentration in Microbiology and Cell Physiology. She subsequently graduated from the Methodist University Physician Assistant Program in 2007 with a Master’s Degree in Medical Science. Mrs. Romero is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the North Carolina Medical Society and the North Carolina Community of Physician Assistants. Mrs. Romero is married and lives in Fayetteville with her husband, Robert, and their two sons. The most recently added an English Bulldog to the family. Mrs. Romero speaks English, Spanish and French. She enjoys long walks with her husband, reading and watching her sons play sports. Mrs. Romero is especially pleased to be able to care for the local Latino community and invites them to come to ABC Pediatrics to see her for health care.

Robert E. Deckert is a Certified Physician Assistant from Venice, Florida. Prior to obtaining his medical education, he was an active member of the United States Army for twenty years. Mr. Deckert was a Senior Instructor for The Special Operations Medical Training Center in Fort Bragg, North Carolina as well as a Senior Supervisory Medical Sergeant for the United States Army in Okinawa, Japan. After his years in the Army, Mr. Deckert attended the Fort Bragg campuses of Central Michigan University and Campbell University to obtain his Bachelor of Health Science Degree and his Master of Science Administration degree. In 2003, Mr. Deckert completed the Physician Assistant Program at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. Mr. Deckert joined the provider team at ABC Pediatrics in September, 2003. Married and the father of five children, Mr. Deckert enjoys morning exercise and hot McDonald’s coffee. His patients know him as “Mr. Bob” and he is recognizable by his healthy beard and his cartoon character neck ties.

Mrs. Hannah Herring is a Certified Physician Assistant originally from Lumberton, NC.  In 2006, she graduated with honors from Methodist University in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Hannah obtained a Bachelor’s of Science with a major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. She continued her education at Methodist University and earned her Master of Medical Science in 2013. Hannah married and Adam Herring in June, 2009. They have two daughters, Caroline and Elaine. Her special medical interests are Asthma and ADHD.

Linda F. Castillo is a Certified Physician Assistant who was born in Costa Rica but now calls Coats, North Carolina home. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry and a Minor in Biology from Catawba College in 2014.  She then attended Campbell University and graduated with her Master of Physician Assistant Practice in July of 2019. She also completed an internship as a researcher at the College of Medicine at the University of Kentucky and has worked as a Clinical Member, Interpreter and Receptionist at a pediatric practice in Salisbury, North Carolina. She has attained numerous certifications and awards over the years in addition to belonging to many professional honor societies because of her scholastic achievements.

Linda has made presentations at the national level meetings of professional societies but also understands the true meaning of community involvement through her participation in events such as the Make a Wish Golf Tournament, Adopt a Highway Clean-Up, Missions of Mercy Dental Clinic and by providing services in the Campbell University Community Health Clinic.  Linda has always had a passion for working with children, as she believes she is a “big kid” herself.  ABC Pediatrics is excited and proud to welcome Linda to our Health Care Team.

Amanda W. Taylor is a NC, Board Certified Physician Assistant. She was born and raised in New Bern, North Carolina. She attended Campbell University and graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology with a minor in chemistry and psychology. She furthered her education at Campbell and graduated with honors from Campbell's Physician Assistant program in 2018. She joined the ABC Pediatrics’ health care team in late April, 2022.  When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband Chris and their two children, Emma and Liam.

Born and raised in Fayetteville, North Carolina, Mr. White attended Northwood Temple Academy from kindergarten through his senior year of high school. He did his undergraduate program in Human Biology at North Carolina State University and earned minors in Psychology and Russian Studies. He obtained clinical hours by shadowing, volunteering in emergency rooms, working as a Certified Nursing Assistant and as a Pharmacy Technician until he was accepted into the Physician Assistant Program at Methodist University. He graduated in December of 2021. He goes by "Sawyer" and his special medical interests include pediatric neurology, and psychiatry. He enjoys running,  hiking, reading and writing in his spare time.

Mr. Brent Westbrook is a Certified Physician Assistant born and raised in Clinton, NC.  After graduating from Clinton High School in 1992, he attended Wake Technical Community College and earned an Associate’s Degree in Emergency Medical Science. In 1994, he began work as a paramedic for Cumberland County EMS. In 2004, he earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Management and Organization Development from Mount Olive College. From Duke University’s Physician Assistant Program, Mr. Westbrook earned his Master’s in Health Science in 2006.

A former member of the Clinton Medical Clinic health care team, Mr. Westbrook currently enjoys providing emergency care to patients at Goldsboro Emergency Medical Specialists. He also provides care on a part time basis to sick and urgent patients at MedFirst Primary and Urgent Care and ABC Pediatrics.

Mr. Westbrook is happily married to his wife Michelle and they have three beautiful children. His special medical interest is emergency medicine. He is a lifetime member of Clinton Sampson Rescue and EMS. Diving, fishing, boating, playing golf, backpacking and shooting sports are Mr. Westbrook’s favorite hobbies.
