ABC Pediatrics is an official Hurricane Matthew drop off location. Todd Sutton, associated with Zylera Pharmaceuticals, will be picking up non-perishable, personal care need items for flood victims on Monday, October 17th. Any donations are sincerely appreciated!

Ms. Gloria J. Jordan is a Certified Physician Assistant who was born in Roseboro, North Carolina and grew up in rural Sampson County. She completed her undergraduate work at the University of North Carolina in Greensboro where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology in 1970. She also received her certification as a Medical Technologist through ASCP in 1971.
ABC Pediatrics proudly announces that Taylor Faith Aman is the 2016 recipient of The Susan A. Ryals Memorial Scholarship Award. Taylor began her high school career at Hobbton High School.
Mrs. Rhonda C. Torchio was born and raised in Roseboro, North Carolina. She attended Campbell University for her undergraduate work from 2001 to 2005. While attending Campbell University, Mrs. Torchio worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at ABC Pediatrics. In 2005, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Campbell University with a minor in Chemistry.

Mrs. Veronica Romero is a Certified Physician Assistant who was born in Mexico City, Mexico. When she was three years old, her family immigrated to Los Angeles, California. In 1990, she completed her Bio-Psychology degree at El Camino College in Torrance, California. She traveled across the country to North Carolina in 1994 and began working for ABC Pediatrics.
True Story…..A 22-month-old boy fell to the bathroom floor, began vomiting blood, and stopped breathing. His family called paramedics. The child died in the emergency room before his x-ray could be interpreted. An autopsy revealed that he had swallowed a button battery that had lodged in and severely burned his esophagus. He died from internal bleeding. The circumstances and timeframe surrounding when the child found and swallowed the battery remain unknown. The family reported that

The ABC Pediatrics’ In-Office Lab is an integral component in the care of our patients. It is staffed by two fully trained and certified Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLTs) and a full time dedicated assistant. These professionals are highly skilled at blood collection and trained in the processing and testing of specimens.
Robert E. Deckert is a Certified Physician Assistant from Venice, Florida. Prior to obtaining his medical education, he was an active member of the United States Army for twenty years. Mr. Deckert was a Senior Instructor for The Special Operations Medical Training Center in Fort Bragg, North Carolina as well as a Senior Supervisory Medical Sergeant for the United States Army in Okinawa, Japan.
