CERTIFICATE of EXCELLENCE AWARDED!
The laboratory at ABC Pediatrics scored 99%! on its recent biennial review by COLA!
Please join our ABC Pediatrics’ staff in congratulating our Laboratory Team for not only achieving this level of recognition and this prestigious award, but also for its day in and day out exceptional handling of your child’s laboratory specimens. Our Laboratory Team is supervised by Lisa Clayton, MLT, ASCP and is also comprised of Michele Hair, MLT and Gale McLamb, NA. All three are dedicated to the professional and respectful handling of patient specimens and the reporting of accurate and timely results for those specimens, allowing our healthcare providers the ability to make immediate decisions on the plan of treatment and care for your child. Our ABC Pediatrics’ Laboratory has the capability of performing 75 individual tests at any given time for the reporting of immediate results, including state-of-the-art molecular testing for Influenza and Respiratory Syncytial Virus, and also partners with Quest Laboratories for a 24 hour turn-around time for results for any testing not performed in our lab.
To insure a continuous level of excellence in the performance of testing, our laboratory staff participates in monthly proficiency testing events and continuing education activities. Every two years, COLA inspects and reviews our activities and rates our performance. COLA, a national healthcare accreditation organization, only grants accreditation to laboratories that apply rigid standards of quality in day-to-day operations, that demonstrate continued accuracy in the performance of proficiency testing and that pass a rigorous on-site laboratory inspection and survey. A Certificate of Excellence has been issued and will be displayed in our office to recognize this outstanding achievement. ABC Pediatrics will continue its long-term commitment to provide quality laboratory services to our patients. This COLA accreditation should give you an independent assurance of our quality of care and commitment to only the highest standards when it comes to your child’s laboratory testing and results.
